Project: Peace & Darkness
During the 12-week Immersive Art Bootcamp at Birmingham Open Media, I developed a 3D environment in Unreal Engine 5, initially intended for user-furnished housing exploration.
The next stage was creating initial mood boards. As my skills evolved during the bootcamp, I transformed the environment into two distinct levels, each embodying contrasting concepts: one spooky environment and the other cute environment. I was inspired by the yin and yang philosophy. Yin symbolises darkness and fear, while yang represents warmth and comfort. Consequently, one level adopts a horror theme, while the other exudes cuteness.
The plan was to keep the furniture design in both environments but change the environment such as music, lighting and material. Created a diagram that is divided into 2 parts which one overlapped with a common part e.g. furniture.
Using Blender for modelling the house and Unreal Engine for texturing, with assistance from Quixel Bridge.
During the bootcamps, skills gained include neon sign creation, level transitions, asset storytelling, and more.
This project demonstrates my technical skills and creative adaptability in digital environments.
